Theatrical Experience of a Life Time
Three fascinating new experiences for Hong Kong theatre lovers. See them ALL!
Tim Crouch, one of the UK’s most thought-provoking writers/performers, and winner of a New York OBIE, the Prix Italia and a Fringe First from Edinburgh, presents three critically acclaimed works that explore the nature of theatrical experience. Crouch toys with the conventions of theatre to demonstrate something that happens every night in theatres all over the world: the transformation of an actor into a character and the audience's total belief in that transformation. Invited to perform around the globe, from Moscow to Rio, Crouch has recently appeared at London's Tate Modern Gallery and the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh.
England, performed by Tim Crouch and Hannah Ringham, which triumphed during a sell out run at the 2007 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, is a play about identity and culture, sickness and the search for health at any cost. Set in the Tang Contemporary Art, within the exhibition Illegal Structure by William Lim, the unconventional storytelling consists of scattered information that leaves the audience to assemble its own viewpoint. Audience capacity for this international hit is strictly limited to sixty per performance. To ensure your place, book now.
Free Seating. Audience will be standing for part of the performance.
An Oak Tree is about the loss of a child. The father of the child is played by an actor who has never before seen the script. The very structure of the play conveys something of the profound disorientation of the pain – that sense of being cast in a role in which you don’t know what to do.
My Arm is an elegy for lost childhood, gloriously improbable yet terribly believable, about how a boy with his arm in the air transforms the world around him. There will be only one performance of this unmissable play.
Crouch’s unique trilogy of award-winning plays is a journey of discovery. “In an hours time with this man you will be changed and think about theatre quite differently than ever before”. The Brooklyn Rail (New York).

This workshop challenges the traditional role of theatre audiences. A play will be created in which the audience moves through the action and plays an integral part. It will start by exploring the space, and will play with the journey, ideas and techniques while questioning audience input and the way live experience is shared.
